Many of them got solved in the two months after but one was still left unanswered.
It was whether or not Anthony Davis would want to get out of the Washington Wizards system after getting traded there. It seems like the Trae Young-led squad no longer has to worry because the legendary big man had an answer already.Davis declares interest in staying with the WizardsIt really is not hard to see that Anthony Davis is a competitor. He refused to let the labels of the New Orleans Pelicans dictate their success and led them to a deep NBA Playoffs run.
Alongside LeBron James, the big man notched a Larry O'Brien trophy to bring the Los Angeles Lakers their first title in 12 years. After that, his time with the Dallas Mavericks was short-lived because he found his way to the Wizards. Now, the Wizards are not exactly the first team anyone thinks about when winning comes to mind. Davis does not seem to care.
He outlined his intention to stay with the team despite how bad NBA fans perceive the franchise to be, via Josh Robbins of The Athletic.“Whether we figure something out in the summer, good or bad, whatever … If it doesn’t get figured out, then come October, mid-October, late October, I will have a Washington Wizards uniform on, and I will go out there, and I will do everything I can to win a basketball game. That’s never going to change," the Wizards big man said.Notably, Davis has not suited up for the Wizards after getting traded there. He suffered an ligament damage on his left finger which kept him out for the whole season.
In fact, Davis has not played in the NBA at all since January 8 when he was still with the Mavericks. Regardless, he is helping the young guns in the Wizards system out a lot. "In the summer, right now, I’m going to compete, train and have the mindset that I will be here next year.
Not only because I’m under contract, but also, I like these young guys. I ain’t going to lie. I feel like they’re all my children," Davis declared.Rumors are still circling the NBA about his potential departure. Whether his statement to the Wizards fans and organization holds true is something that can only be determined by time.More NBA News:Anthony Davis is trading hard wood for hard jokesWhy Thunder are still NBA players' favorites to win the Larry O'Brien trophySpurs, Victor Wembanyama likely to share Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's NBA Playoffs fate
