Composer Devi Sri Prasad, popularly known as Rockstar DSP, shared an emotional tribute following the passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, recalling his personal bond with the veteran artiste and the memories he continues to cherish. Taking to social media, DSP described her loss as deeply painful and spoke about how his association with the iconic singer extended beyond music. He wrote, “Heart Breaking / The LEGEND @asha.bhosle ji / Blessed to have recorded HER for the SONG #HarGharTiranga on the Prestigious Occasion of #75YearsOfIndianIndependence / Other than my Mother, the only person whom I addressed as AMMA was ASHA AMMA.

He recalled how she spontaneously began singing ‘Srivalli’ when they met, a memory he described as especially meaningful. Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12, 2026, in Mumbai at the age of 92 following multi-organ failure.

Over a career spanning more than eight decades, she recorded over 12,000 songs in more than 20 Indian and international languages, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence generations of musicians and listeners alike.
