Often described as the travel industry’s equivalent of the Oscars, the awards celebrate excellence across global tourism and hospitality.

Voting for the 2026 edition opened on 30 March and will remain open until 17 July. Perched above Cape Town, Table Mountain is no stranger to international recognition. Named one of the New7Wonders of Nature, the flat-topped landmark has claimed the title of Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction five times, with wins spanning 2014, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

This year’s nomination once again places the destination among the continent’s top travel experiences. It also offers locals and visitors alike a chance to support one of South Africa’s most celebrated природal assets. “This nomination is a proud moment for Cape Town and South Africa as a whole,” says Wahida Parket, Managing Director of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company.

“Table Mountain is more than a landmark. It is a symbol of our natural heritage and a world-class attraction that continues to inspire visitors from across the globe. Every vote is an opportunity to show what this destination means to us.” Winners are determined by public vote, making widespread support a crucial factor.

As competition intensifies, the nomination highlights the enduring appeal of Cape Town’s flagship attraction and its role in drawing travellers to the region.
